The Unicorn Tapestries by Margaret B. Freeman. © 1983. Pub. by Metropolitan Museum of Art and E. P. Dutton NY. A scholarly look at the seven Tapestries at the Cloisters in NY, depicting the Hunt of the Unicorn, a simultaneously magical and religious depiction of life, love, victory. Rich in detail and filled with fold-out color plates and b/w images on nearly every page. The dustcover has light wear at the upper and lower edges, including one small tear on the front at the top. The red cloth cover has gilt lettering along the tight spine and what looks like an Alpha and Omega embossed into the front. The pages are bright and clean with no disfiguring marks. A beautiful book that will enchant, delight and instruct. Retails elsewhere for up to $113.
