Joseph L Wantz Artist Proof Taneytown 1904[YJ2-4200-PSS] $150.00

TANEYTOWN 1904 - Artist Proof
20 x 23 Joseph L. Wantz artist proof titled Taneytown - 1904 which depicts the snow-covered houses of that town as they existed around the turn of the 20th century. Highly detailed, rich in color and ready for framing. Made from an original painting that was created in 1987. The proof is numbered, but not signed. The artist's name and date of creation appear in the lower left hand corner of the proof as they were printed from the original. Please note that this artist proof has been well cared for and is clean with a bright white border. An appropriate COA is included similar to the one shown in the photo. The original edition consisted of 475 prints and 25 Artist Proofs. Printed on 100 lb. Acid-free cotton paper with fade-resistant ink.

The following info comes from biographical materials supplied by the artist's daughter: "Joseph L. Wantz was a realist painter for more than 60 years. Self-taught, his God-given talent was evident at childhood. A versatile artist, his painting and prints are appreciated in homes and businesses throughout the United States. Through the years, Mr. Wantz won numerous awards. He was commissioned to paint for several business corporations including The Nolan Company and Amusements of America. He painted extensively for the State of Maryland, Defenders of Wildlife, and private collectors. The subjects of Mr. Wantz's paintings are often reminiscent of people, scenes, and events in and around Maryland and southern Pennsylvania where he resided for most of his life. His paintings show his interest in the local people and places that inspired him." We also have this image available as a 20 x 23 hand signed and hand numbered print, as well as a 20 x 23 numbered only print. Please feel free to inquire about volume discounts.
