A Wm. Rogers & Son silverplate tray in the "Victorian Rose, 1972" pattern. It is heavy in weight and has a beautifully chased design in the center and a wonderful repousse pattern around the rim. It appears to be silverplate over copper, as some of the silverplate has worn away, allowing the copper to show through, creating a beautiful contrast on this 15" tray.
There are three small pit areas where the silverplate has chipped. The largest is 3/16" by less than 1/8". There are slight scratches on the surface from polishing, and greater scratches on the back from use, but I believe they would soften with subsequent polishing or buffing. They do not break the surface of the silverplate.
The tray is marked Victorian Rose, Wm. Rogers & Son, 1972 on the back. Replacement value of this tray is $179. I am offering it for $79 in light of its flaws, but keeping in mind that there is still a lot of beauty and use left in this tray. In addition, this would be a tray that is worth replating.
