Victorian style brooch that looks like the real thing but which has characteristics that suggest a later than Victorian date. Please use the following information to guide your purchase. The stamped background is very lightweight, gold colored, and does not adher to a magnet. It is possibly gold washed and definitely not plated and there is not oxidation, suggesting that it is not brass. The black disc is plastic, not onyx. The stone is hand set as a gemstone would be and looks like a polished rough cut diamond but is likely quartz. There is a riveted pinback for its closure. Based on this, I would date this pin from the late 50s or early 60s. Measures 1 1/4". A very nice look that will fit in with any Victorian jewelry collection.
