These pretty Micro-Mosaic screwback earrings are made by taking small shards of colored glass and placing them into a design. Many of the micro-mosaic designs are floral, although this one is more of a symmetrical geometric design. Although the micro-mosaic process originates from the 1800s, these were probably made in the 1960s when manufacturers revived the process, but used larger shards of glass. Very pretty, and still quite popular among collectors. Well made, they measure 1 1/4" and are in excellent condition.
